Barney Frank To Repeal Online Gambling Ban

Congressman Barney Frank has been working toward repealing the UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act) and working toward regulation. “The bill introduction should happen in the next month,” a speaker for House of Representatives Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank said.

According to Reuters, the EU is planning on filing a plaint about U.S. breaking trade decree and supporting the ban. Those that support the ban feel that gambling companies are extracting millions of dollars from the U.S. economy. On the other hand, the EU was inflict injury upon financially by the U.S. decision to pull to the end of the online gambling industry and claims to have lost billions.

After the U.S. determination to leave the EU market, they immediately began an investigation involving the WTO (World Trade Organization). Their investigation revolved around the idea that U.S. gambling companies pulled out of the EU market but placid allow gambling activities in the U.S.

This has been an ongoing investigation and a abounding report is being introduced to the WTO once it is complete. The recital will be used to negotiate a distribution with the US and hopefully reintroduce online gambling to the EU.
