A recent study noted that allowing that online gaming were legalized and regulated, the US economy could raise almost $52 billion in revenue within the next decade. The study, conducted by Pricewaterhouse Coopers, will be presented in Congress in hopes of garnering support for the legalization of online gambling.
Within the last week Congressman Barney Frank expressed interest in repealing the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) and hopes to present his case to Congress along with bread of this document. His chances of vital principle successful this time around are else promising since this time around both sides of the house are both Democratic and President Obama has expressed his interest in keeping the Internet “free”.
This number of taxing online gaming has come up many times before and although it does sound liking a great idea, it’s going to be an uphill battle. We trust to see change in the toil but only time will tell.
