Now that the festivities are over, President Barack Obama and his Administration are ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work. The first order of business is to put a halt to any last minute regulations which be left behind pending from the Bush Administration. Each regulation must be fully reviewed through the Obama group in front of approval.
“This afternoon, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel signed a memorandum sent to all agencies and departments to stop all pending regulations until a legal and cunning review can subsist conducted by the Obama administration,” the White House said in a statement issued just hours after Obama took office.
According to Reuters, this review process is common from an incoming administration and it was organized in order to prevent the previous conduct from passing any last-minute regulations.
Former presidents be delivered of well taken advantage of Midnight Regulations including Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and of course George W. Bush.
Among some of the last minute regulations from the Bush Administration include: More support against the UIGEA, Support for carrying concealed weapons and prohibiting medical institutions from receiving Federal Money for discriminating against doctors who rebuff to assist with abortions or handing abroad of contraception due to religious beliefs.
According to Federal law, there is a 60-day period before somewhat regulations can be passed. This ordinance was created because some presidents consider tried to push through regulations before leaving their distribution. It’s basically a safety measure to prevent such things from happening.
