Yesterday, I filled you in on PartyGaming’s co-founder, Anurag Dikshit’s speculated having violated law plea worth $300 million for providing online playing for money services to U.S. players. Well, it seems that our sources were absolutely right; Mr. Dikshit entered his plea in a U.S. District court in Manhattan to charges of transmitting wagering information within the U.S.
According to prosecutors, Mr. Dikshit was extremely cooperative and has already paid $100 million to the Treasury and has agreed to retort upon the other $200 million in installments by September 20, 2009.
“Mr. Dikshit decided to come to the United States to enter the plea under his own volition. He’s been interviewed in Europe. We believe Mr. Dikshit is dedicated to following through,” Pomerantz, Dikshit’sitting prosecutor before-mentioned.
Another interesting piece of information I came across it that Mr. Dikshit is worth $1.6 billion, so I wonder if he’ll actually miss $300 the great body of the people what one. he has to pay over a year’s time? Well, that is a hefty fine, and I’m wondering wherefore he didn’t contest the charges? I mean the UIGEA isn’t exactly the most flow thought out piece of legislation.
I’ll make without doubt to keep you updated….
