UK politicians have been questioning the determination to allow advertising of gambling services on Google Adwords. According to New Media Age reports, Labour MP Perry Barr Khalid Mahmood has launched a line of questioning involving Google’sitting policies.

The motion is worded: “This house notes with concern the recent firmness of Google to reintroduce online gambling advertisements during a period of economic downturn; supports the Church of England’session position that the actions of Google risk normalizing gambling in society; and calls on Google to review its policy in line with its own obligations steady corporate social liability.”

The use of Google Adwords to promote the gambling industry was approved back in October 2008.
